Corporate Controller Status: Regular, Full-time The Corporate Controller will perform the activities of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, contract accounting and software development expenses. Ensures compliance with internal policies and external financial requirements, board reporting. Reports Directly to the CEO RESPONSIBILITIESPerform transaction processing (accounts payable, accounts payable and payroll) to ensure timely and accurate payments, prompt billing and accurate recording in the general ledger.Ensure correct GAAP accounting treatment in the recording of transactions and preparation of financial statements.Ensure compliance with applicable legal and tax requirements. Maintain a complete and current external reporting calendar; manage accurate and timely preparation of external reports.Monitor and manage cash. Project cash needs into the future and develop strategies to meet requirements.Prepare usable financial reports to summarize and forecast company activity, and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations.Ensure complete and up-to-date written operating procedures for all accounting and financial controls. Monitor and maintain the finance departments internal controls to ensure accurate record keeping, safeguarding of assets and appropriate segregation of duties.Maintain the integrity and usability of the accounting and payroll systems.Prepare any special analyses or write-ups required for any emerging accounting and/or reporting issues.Handle external CPA audits.Work with insurance broker to determine coverage needs.Assist CEO in maintaining effective banking relationships.Perform related special projects or other duties as assigned. EDUCATIONCollege degree in Accounting or related field required. CPA Strongly Preferred2 to 5 years of related work experience including at least two years of accounting/finance management experience.Full GAAP financial statement preparation experience including disclosures.
