POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Areas of focus:

  • Graduate education and assessment
  • Graduate student affairs

List of Responsibilities:

Develop advisory program to assist students with all aspects of course planning and rotation integration

Work with Graduate Curriculum Committee

  • Assessment develop evaluation plans and instruments to assess learning outcomes
  • Course leaders
  • Metrics
  • New courses and existing courses
  • New teaching methods for graduate courses

Develop comprehensive course evaluation plan

  • Accreditation
  • Develop program-wide bench marks
  • Work with Registrar on all program metrics
  • Coordinate external reporting

New course development

  • Expansion of graduate training enrichment courses and activities
  • Education research
  • New programs (MS, certificate programs)

Graduate Student Affairs academics

  • Work with Academic Affairs Committee
    • Review Advisory Committee reports
    • Review new thesis research reports
    • Review grade reports
  • Develop and monitor milestone measures and time-line to degree
  • Meet with students and Office of Academic Support as needed to develop course plan

Graduate Student Affairs advisory process

  • Implement and develop process for course advising for 1st year students
  • Develop and implement workshops on study skills, time management skills
  • Develop and maintain regular communication with graduate students

Oversee and develop curriculum for 1st year student meetings (Phocus)

Develop graduate student ombudsman program

Develop measures of graduate student satisfaction

Develop and implement mentor training program

QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD Degree
  • 4 or more years experience in Higher Education (Preferably Graduate Education)
  • Student advising experience
  • Experience with assessment tools and evaluation resources
  • Supervisory/Management experience
  • Detail Oriented
  • Deadline Driven
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills
